When most people think of sweet potatoes, they think of eating cooked sweet potatoes vs raw sweet potatoes. Cooking them makes them easier to digest, however, juicing a sweet potato allows a compromised body to absorb nutrients better.

Sweet potatoes are loaded with health benefits which make it a fantastic juicing vegetable. Surprisingly enough, you can get quite a bit of liquid out of a sweet potato.

Also, they are naturally sweet thereby making them a great taste buds balancer. I enjoy consuming sweet potatoes because they contain many nutrients that are beneficial to my autoimmune condition.

This vegetable's vitamin and mineral content strengthens the immune system for disease-fighting protection and prevention. Its nutrients also are a great mood booster.

Along with the nutrients in this juice comes starch and sugar. Keep this in mind if you prefer a lower sugar content in your juices.

This sweet potato juice is tart due to the grapefruit. If you need a sweeter-tasting juice, consider adding 1/2 to 1 whole apple to the juice. An apple like cosmic crisp or honey crisp would be good choices.

A Tart Tasting Sweet Potato Juice

Yield: 8-12 oz.
Prep Time: 5 minutes
Additional Time: 5 minutes

This sweet potato juice gives your taste buds a kick and your body a health boost.


  • 1 Large (2 Cups) Sweet Potato
  • 1 Large Grapefruit
  • 1 Cucumber
  • 1 inch grated Turmeric
  • 2 Stalks Celery


  1. Thoroughly clean all fruits and vegetables
  2. Peel and chunk the sweet potato to fit into the juicer
  3. Peel and chunk the grapefruit
  4. Cut the rest of the vegetables to fit into the juicer
  5. Grate the turmeric
  6. Feed all the fruit and vegetables through the juicer in the order given above
  7. Cyphen the juicer through a strainer into a glass or jar
  8. Enjoy the tart juice treat
  9. Alternatively, fill to the top of a jar and close with a tight-fitting top. Make sure as little air is left in the jar as possible to preserve the juice's nutrients. Place the juice in the refrigerator to drink later.
