A Refreshing Cucumber Juice Recipe (Great For Summer)

This refreshing cucumber juice will hydrate the body and skin while supplying much-needed nutrients for the immune system.

They also clear toxins out of the body with their heavy water-base. These veggies supply cells with water for better cellular performance while helping to push toxins and foreign substances out of the body.

Romaine Lettuce

Romaine Lettuce is a nice crunchy vegetable that will provide your body with Vitamins C and K and beta-carotene. These vitamins are great for your immune system and a healthy heart.

Also, this leaf vegetable boosts hydration levels. According to Harvard Health, romaine is comprised of 95% water. I am sure that is a give-or-take percentage. Either way, adding this to your cucumber juice will help flush out your body.

Green Apple

A half-green apple adds a bit of sweetness to the cucumber juice. It is also refreshing and nutritional. Additionally, its hydrating factor makes it great to pair with cucumber and romaine for a summertime drink.

Another great benefit of adding green apple to the drink is its pectin content. Pectin promotes healthy gut bacteria for better gut health. Also, pectin is a soluble fiber. A portion of soluble fiber will remain in the juice meaning that you still benefit from the goodness.

However, if you want to keep more pectin, only slightly strain the juice leaving some of the pulp. 

Radish Microgreens (or other microgreens)

Microgreens have a high nutritional content, usually more so than full-grown herbs or vegetables. This makes them extremely valuable in a juice.

You are extracting the nutritional goodness right into your body. Allowing the nutrients to directly enter your system provides you with energizing health effects.

English Cucumbers

English cucumbers are longer in size with a few amount of seeds. They are often referred to as seedless cucumbers. They have a pleasant flavor that is nice for juicing. 

Picolino cucumbers

These are my favorite types of cucumbers for eating and juicing. They are small in size, delicious in flavor, and do not need to be peeled even when eaten raw due to their delicious thin skin.

Persian Cucumbers

The Persian cucumber is firmer than some varieties but are still mild and have a sweet flavor. They are smaller than the English cucumber.

Japanese Cucumbers

Japanese cucumbers are mild, long, and tender. Also, they have small seeds and a thin skin that does not need peeling.

Tanja Cucumbers

These cucumbers are medium in length compared to other varieties. They are also not at all bitter. Their skin is on the crispier side but mild in flavor.

wautoma Cucumbers

Approximately 4-5 inches in length, these cucumbers produce a nice crunch. They are not bitter in taste, have a thin skin, and taste on the sweeter side. Additionally, they are said to be higher in Vitamin C.

If you do not have a juicer, you may use a blender or food processor to make this. Combine the ingredients as stated in the recipe. Then use a mesh sieve to push through the juice into a glass. 

A juicer is easier and does not include as many steps. However, when you really want a cucumber juice but lack a juicer, this technique will work just fine.

Hydrating Cucumber Juice

A refreshing cucumber juice that will hydrate the body and fill it with lots of nutrient-goodness!

Ingredients

  • 6 Mini Cucumbers
  • 1/2 Green Apple
  • 1/4 cup Microgreens
  • 2 Romaine Leaves (medium)

Instructions

  1. Push cucumbers through the juicer.
  2. Juice the 1/2 of the apple with the skin on.
  3. Place in the microgreens and push them through the juicer.
  4. Lastly, juice the romaine lettuce pieces.
  5. Doing this last will pick up all of the vegetable pieces left behind.
  6. Pour the juice into a glass through a small mesh strainer.
  7. Enjoy your refreshing cucumber drink!
