Taking care of the brain is something that I constantly think about. Our memory is a big indicator to the health of the brain. With a father on the path to dementia and close friends of the family being diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease and dementia, we are ultrasensitive to the side effects of oxidative stress on the brain resulting in cognitive decline.

The health benefits of these herbs include decreased mental fatigue, increased blood flow, and decrease of free radicals in the body and the brain. We are on a strict protocol to help us prevent neurodegenerative diseases that involve medicinal herbs.

Some of the improvements we have noticed  from these herbal supplements are better circulation, decreased brain fog, and overall better brain health and nervous system health. Consider using herbal remedies in your protocol.

This post Shows you the best herbs to use for memory and brain health.

Sage (Salvia Officinalis)

The common cooking herb sage is another memory enhancing herb. Sage, like lemon balm, has properties that attributes to stopping the decrease of ACh (acetylcholine) a neurotransmitter involved involved in how the brain functions.

Sage decreases acetylcholinesterase enzymatic activity which targets the above neurotransmitter. If the above neurotransmitter, ACh, is too low, memory begins to be impaired. Sage helps to keep this from happening.

How To Use:

  • Tincture: Use according to manufacturer's directions, adding 1 drop at a time every few days until full dosage is reached without side effects.
